a new dawn a new day

So I went to Christian Conference... and I liked it! I really wasn't sure if I would. But it was great, even the weird stuff :D
When I get it all sorted in my brain I'll blog more, for now let me just say - I walked away a lot more hopeful and a lot more joyful than I have been in a long time, and that's despite the masses of really sad news I've heard lately.
it will take a long time to blog, but maybe if it's minus forty again tomorrow, school may be closed and I may have a chance to write.

until then... let me just add, that I'm also very excited about a new business enterprise! My younger brother has agreed to assist me in setting up and running a photography business. I had my first paying gig/photo shoot last week, a "maternity shoot" which was loads of fun and I think quite lovely. and now - I guess we'll see how it all goes.

A plea.

My Aunt, sent me this prayer request that I thought I would share. She and her family lived in Kenya for a number of years and I know they are worried about their good friends there, literally in the midst of the fighting. Please pray with us!

"If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, and turn away from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, I will forgive them and will HEAL THEIR LAND." ( 2 Chronicles 7:14 ).

On January 25th 2008 , we are asking Every Kenyan, Every Friend of Kenyans, Everywhere to take time to make a concerted prayer for Kenya.

We want EVERY Kenyan and Every Friend of Kenyans in EVERY CONTINENT on the face of the earth to be praying together on this one day on behalf of our country.
How to participate: · Spread the word: send this message to Every Kenyan and Every Friend of Kenyans all over the world that you know, Everywhere – txt, SMS, e-mail, phone call ·
On January 25th, make a point of setting aside time to pray for Kenya , it does not have to be a long time but it must be a deliberate effort to pray for specific things about Kenya · You can pray individually, or get together with a friend or friends, workmates, someone on the street, your priest, pastor, congregation, youth group.
What to pray for: - PEACE,, PEACE
- Whatever else you feel in your heart to pray for concerning Kenya

'Lord, make me an instrument of your peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; when there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.' St Francis

So... I'm in Detox.

I've done it once before with a friend and I thought it might be a good idea again. I probably wouldn't have thought of it actually if a student of mine wasn't doing the detox with her family. But I've felt ill and run down for so long now I figure this definitely can't hurt... and getting toxins out of your system could only help it right.
Anyway, I love all the kinds of food they reccomend on the diet, so how could it be bad...
The bad part? It just seems to take so much extra effort. I'm a roll out of bed, just in time to dress appropriately and get to work sort of person. Preparing lunch before work seems a little insane, it's so much easier to grab a microwave burrito, know what I mean. Ahh well. I figure it's also good discipline, I always can get more done when I've planned everything out in advance.
It may also be good for business. I've been looking at starting a Photography business... discipline will definitely help advance that, especially while I'm still also working at the school.
wow... this is rather rambling - a lack of blogging practice. Facebook steals almost everyone's blogging time, including mine usually.... I'm glad there's a few that have held on to blogger though - it seems that bit more personal somehow... Hope you're all well.
